15 Feb 21 Hand Shower Project

Monday 15 Feb 21

I woke up at 8 and let the dogs out. There was a man walking his dog a distance away so I put Wiggin in the RT and made some coffee. After the man moved on I let Wiggin out and we walked around the area a bit.

After and hour or so I went backk in the RT and made breakfast of Oats, toast and a banana. After cleaning up I drove back to the Walmart and picked up some groceries. I also bought a can of Seafoam and put it in the RT fuel tank. Since I buy gas with methanal mixed in it is suggested that a can of Seafoam should be added to the fuel to clean the fuel system of the Onan generator. I then headed to St George and stopped at a Burger King for coffee. I was hungry by then and I used a coupon for a Whopper Meal.

After I finished a man about my age came in and was reading  a newspaper while he was eating. Something you don't see very often anymore and I made a comment about that to him. We wound up having a long conversation. His name was Chris and he had retired 25 years ago when he was just 52 from a civil servant job. His wife retired about the same time and then they went on several missions with the LDS church. Argentina, South Africa, China were some of the places he went. His wife had died of breast cancer a few years ago. He had recently remarried but it didn't even last a year. A very nice man.

We both left after our conversation. Back at the RT I worked on a couple projects. One was to reconfigure the drivers ventilation fan like the configuration of the passenger's. I then got an old single faucet 12 VDC pump out of my storage bin to see if I could make a makeshift shower. Apparently the pump was bad but I found another pump, a submersible one which is even better. I walked over to a Home Depot and bought some clear hose and a drip irrigation fitting and a flush ¼ Sprinkler head.

Backk at the RT I connected it all up. It worked but not enough volume for a shower. I think the problem is the small size of the drip irrigation fitting. I will try to connect the clear hose to the hose on the actual RT shower head.

Later I nuked a can of spaghetti and meatballs and had that with some toast and an avocado.

Around 9 I drove to a Pilot Truck Stop for the night.
