Day 79

Got up around 5 to let Pete out. Went back to bed until 8. After breakfast I went to a Lowes that was next door and bought a thermometer. I needed  one large enough that I could see the inside temperature when I was using the webcam. They had the perfect size to fit above the third seat.

I also bought a bigger inverter at Walmart. Both stores have limited enty to one door and they only let a certain number of people inside. There was a bit of a line to get in Walmart but not a long wait.

Back at the RT I installed the thermometer and hooked up the inverter. The inverter will power the printer, the HP Laptop and the camcorder but it couldn't power up the e-Machine laptop. That laptop uses a lot of power

I went back to the generator set up and captured an entire 60 minute 8MM tape. Everything seemed to work great. It is amazing that the e-Machine laptop still works after 30+ years. I just wish it would work off the inverter. It would come up but then the inverter would sound an alarm that the DC input voltage was low. The inverter has a digital DC voltage meter. Pretty impressed. Perhaps if I had a second battery and a solar system everything would work. Maybe by the end of the summer I might get a system installed.

While the video was being captured  I made lunch, part of a sandwich, chips, avacodo and applesauce.

After lunch I went and found a gas station close by that had a water hydrant and filled the fresh water tank. Now I have no excuse not to take a shower.

After getting water I decided to buy a door catch and installed it on the desk to better secure the desk end cap.

After I finished installing the catch I cooked some rice and fish for dinner and watched an old Columbo rerun.

I will move back to the spot I parked in last night at the Walmart.
