Day 88

Pete woke up at 7:30 wanting out. After I got back in the RT I worked on redoing yesterday's blog post. Once a blog entry is posted it is next to impossible to edit it. The more attempts the worse it gets. The only solution is to delete and Start all over. That was the case with yesterday's entry. After I was satisfied with the post I fixed the typical breakfast. After cleaning up I got on the road and drove straight home.

It was a great 88 Days. I traveled a total of 7260 miles. I had one scare with water pump leaking coolant from the weep hole. It happen only once and there has not been any considerable loose of coolant since. I didn't add leak stop or take any action to correct the issue so I'm hesitant to change the pump.

As I've stated in previous blogs this was more of a lifestyle than a roadtrip. That helped to get through the ShutDown caused by the Coronavirus. Like everyone else I was in isolation at home, it was just that my home moved from place to place.

Before the shut down I was able to live on my planned $1500 budget. The drop in fuel was obviously a benefit and I came in even less than the $1500 while still purchasing the Kayak for $200.

This is a separate budget from my home expenses. The only travel expense not included in the $1500 is the the cost of insurance for the RT. The RT is all I need. It is an amazing home.

I think that Pete and Wiggin prefer it to the house. But then the mailman hasn't come yet which is Wiggins main excitement. Wiggin is the perfect travel dog. Pete amazes me at how he knows exactly where to get to be the most in the way. Knowing he is blind I try to be understanding but there were times when I vented. I would never hit that boy though. His only desire is to be loved. He only had one accident early in the trip. If you have read my post it must be obvious to you that I love pets.

I must confess that I did not reach my one objective. To reach the furtherest southern point in Key West Florida. That was my objective last year as well. Oh well there is always next year.

I had a secondary goal of capturing video from my Sonny 8mm tapes and digitizing them. There were some equipment failures that prevent this from happening. I plan to resolve this issue while I'm home and possibly captured the videos here. Once digitized it will take many hours to make DVDs and/or online content. This can be done on the road.

I was able to futher develop the Sympllyph Website . I made blog entries for all 88 days. I also added last year's trip to the website as well. I realize that the enteries can be raw and not well edited but their main purpose is for me to remember my travels in future years. As time allows I read through the post and make edits.

Intermixed in the descriptions of the days events are some insights into my personal life experiences that you might find insightful..
