Pantheon

Friday 3Apr20 Pantheon One Again

Day 79

Got up around 7:30. There were several RVers, a couple of Van Dwellers and a guy who spent the night in his car. From the sun shades he had in all the windows it appears he may be living in his car or at least travels this way.

I went on a WMEFMN and bought some groceries. I did wear my home made face mask. I got on the road a little before 10.

I got to Nashville and drove to the Pantheon. If you follow my blog you will remember that I was here about a year ago. The Pantheon is in Centennial Park and apparently they are doing some upgrades to the park. There is a lot of construction going on. I took both dogs and walked around the lake. By the time we got back to the RT Pete was exhausted and I had to carry him the last couple hundred feet.

As I was preparing a salad for a lunch a man in his thirties walked up and ask me if I needed anything. His name was Mathew and he was a minister. He had been in Iraq for a couple of years as a Marine and then for a while as a contractor. Apparently he became pretty screwed up through it all. All was for good because it ultimately brought him to a personal relationship with Christ. We talked for quite a while. He told me that he had planned to take off on a Van Dwelling Lifestyle at  one point and had even bought a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van that he was going to convert to a RV of sorts. He had planned to go to Baja California but for some reason he was concerned that if the Sprinter broke down there would be no one to repair and he would have to abandon it. Consequently he sold the van at a loss. Now he is planning to buy a four-wheel drive Toyota Tundra pick up and camper. I really liked Mathew since we have a lot in common. I finally told him I was in the process of making a lunch and he went on his way.

After lunch I check for coolant under the RT and not a drop. Weird! I got back on the road heading to Clarksville.

I found a Sam's Club in Clarksville and filled up and got right back on the road.

I drove to Puducah which is about half way between Nashville and St Louis. I found a Walmart and parked for the night. I nuked one of the Hormel Compleats for dinner. After dinner I watched an old movie with Robert Redford.
