Day 74

Woke around 8 and spent some time working on a couple of blog entries from last year's roadtrip. My goal is to have an entry for every day of last year's roadtrip. I have got a long way to go. I have each day's event captured in a Google Doc. It is just a matter of copying and pasting them into a blog entry. The accompanying photos are not as easy. They are imbedded in the DOC but are not recognized by the blog text editor. As a matter of fact the text editor makes it nearly impossible to make any changes to the text once it is pasted in. That is one reason why there a grammar and spelling errors in the blog entries. That and the fact I barely made it through high school.

I finally got up around 8:30 to a beautiful morning. I had the usual breakfast. After cleaning up I worked on some electrical issues. The four gang outlet I recently purchased works fine and I like how each outlet is highlighted by a blue LED. The male plug however tends to back out of any female receptacle and looses power. I decided to try using some duct tape to resolve the issue.

I also noticed last night that the TV would not power up. In trouble shooting the problem I managed to blow the fuse on the TV's power cord. I looked for a fuse while I was in Walmart but could not find one.

I decided that there wasn't any real reason to go to Charlotte so I set course for Asheville NC. I had been there a few years ago and really loved it.

On the way I took a 6 mile side excursion to Musgrove Mill State Park. It is the site of a couple of Revolutionary War Battles. Sorry to say it was closed due to the Coronavirus. I think a little reasoning should have been used before all the state governments shut down everything. I don't want anyone to die needlessly but the complete shutdown of every government organization and over 90% of the private sector will not be easy to recover from. The infringement on our liberties is very concerning to me. I heard that a mayor in a city in California closed all gun retailers stating that it might not be a good idea for people to have guns in these stressful times. Closing them for fear of passing on the virus might be acceptable but for his stated reason is absolutely not.

I drove the six miles back to I-26 and continued towards Askville. I stopped for fuel in Spartanburg. 87 octane was $1.29. After fueling up I After fueling I found a parking spot for the night.

In today's attacheded photos there are some screenshots from the webcam. Through a couple of apps downloaded on one of your devices, such as a smart phone, you can start up the webcam and then control where it is pointed.
