USS Alabama

Monday 23Mar20 Battleship USS Alabama

Day 67

Got up at 7:30 to cloudy morning. The humidity was 100% and so it was foggy. After having the usual breakfast I went into WM and bought some banana nut bread. I had fired up the hot water heater during breakfast so once I got back to the. RT I took a shower and shaved.

One issue I have with the RT is that there is only one DC outlet in the bedroom area. I have a splitter cable that guves me two out let's, but I have 4 devices that 12VDC Power. The TV, the inverter, a outlet for a  dual USB phone charger, and a 12VDC fan. I looked for one while I was in WM but they just had a splitter. I wound up driving about 4 miles to an AutoZone and found one there. I took it back to the RT and got everything hooked up and working.

I then drove to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. Like everything else it was closed. I was able to find a pull off down the road  and stopped there to take a few photos. I had part of a sandwich there for lunch.

From there I decided to head south on Hiway 98 towards Battle Watf. After awhile I found a park area by the beach and took the dogs for a walk. After a good walk I got back on the road and took Hiway 59 south to Orange Beach. The governor of Alabama has closed all the beaches but I thought I could possibly get to the water someplace. It was pretty amazing how all the beach access roads were barricaded. I did find a place to pull off the road and parked and had dinner. I walk to the beach a couple of times while I was parked there.
