Day 40

Woke at 7:30 and got up at 8. Fed the dogs and had the typical breakfast. After cleaning up I drove to a nearby McDonald's and had a Senior coffee and refill. I updated my budget and read some articles on Epoch Times.

After coffee I drove to the Dallas Heritage Village. The village is on what was the grounds of the first park in Dallas, Dallas City Park. It was near the Browder Springs which later became part of the park. The springs were the original sourse of water for Dallas. Later the construction of I-30 seperated the park from downtown and afterwards the park started to decline. Some ladies arranged to save an old plantation house nearby, the Millermore House and had it moved to the park. That was the beginning of the Dallas Heritage Village. Since then 21 buildings were moved here..

After seeing most of the village I went back to the RT to let the dogs out and have some lunch.

After lunch I went back and toured the rest of the village which was basically the downtown, bank, general store and saloon.

After I finished touring the village I drove back to the phone repair shop. He had received the code but hadn't entered it yet. When he finally entered the code the phone caught on fire! Not really but I half expected it to. No. In actuality it worked. I didn't know it at the time but the phone line actually became active as soon as it was unlocked. Not knowing this I drove to a Sprint store which I had to walk several blocks to get to only to be told by the lady tech assisting me that the phone line was all ready active on the phone. I had a hard time believing this and I think the lady was a bit insulted. If she only knew the time and effort I went through to get this accomplished. Wow that was a long time coming. Now hopefully I can get it setup to use as a wifi for the RT. I will work on that in the next few days.

After that I drove to the Sam's Club and fueled up. I drove to Goesbeck where I stopped for the night.
