Tombstone

Saturday 1Feb20 Tombstone

Day 16

Woke up at 7 and put the dogs out to potty. I saw a coyote walking across a field in the not so distance.

After breakfast I drove back to the main part of Tombstone and had coffee. A lot of coffee. I then walked the boardwalk down to the OK Coral. I paid the $10 dollars to see the reenactment of the famous gun fight. It is amazing at how close they were.

I messed around town most of the morning and early afternoon. Went back to the RT and had part of a sandwich for lunch. After walking the dogs and taking them back to the RT I walked around some more. Pretty much a day of walking around. I think there a at least 4 different places to see a gun fight. I only saw the most famous one. I read about Big Nose Kate. She was Doc Holiday's significant other. She had pretty rough life starting when she killed her guardian man with an axe as he was trying to take advantage of her in his barn.

Around 2 I decided to go back to I-10 and head to El Paso. I stopped in and got propane then stopped in for fuel and a $9 shower. I decided to have dinner when I got back to the RT. I fired up the generator and nuked some spicy canned tamales. I am glad I went to the trouble to get the generator operational. It really comes in handy.

I got back on I-10 and stopped at a truck stop in Deming NM for the night.
