Day 22

Woke up at 8 and had the usual breakfast. After cleaning up got on the road to Odessa. The number of oil wells and density of them is almost unbelievable.  I found the McDonald's in Odessa and yes I had my coffee and updated my budget.

I then drove to a childhood home of George W Bush in Midland Texas. He was 6 years old when Gearge Senior and Barbara moved here. George senior was in a partnership in the oil industry and he came to Midland from California to start up an office. Robin and Jeb were born while they lived here. This is where Robin died of lukemia. The home was restored to how it appeared when the Bushs lived there. George W has come back to visit several times. It was his favorite childhood home. He played little league base ball. George Senior was the team's coach.

From Midland I drove on to Amarillo. I stopped in a pull out before Lubbock and had a late lunch, nuked burrito. I stopped for fuel on the other side of Lubbock. I got into Amarillo around 8 and parked at the same Walmart I stayed at last April.
