Day 36

Pete wanted out at 7. It was 17 degrees at one point last night, 19 this morning. Battery was at 2 bars this morning but furnace still ran. I ran the generator for about 45 minutes while I fed the dogs then I went into the room at 8:15. Mom and Dad were up and the attendant was getting Dad dressed. We went to breakfast and I ate.

After breakfast I took a shower. Dad let me trim his finger nails but not his toe nails. I packed everything up and drove to McDonald's for coffee.

After coffee I drove back to FB and ate the rest of the sandwich from yesterday. I went back to the room and found the updated retirement brochure from OPM. The extra $350 is going to Alison as I suspected.

We had the meeting at 2 and then we took a tour of the memory care wing. During the meeting we discovered that it would be about $200 cheaper if they were in memory care. The main benefit is that they will get more assistance including feeding Mom. The main disadvantage is the room would be smaller.

We then went back to the room and I used my laptop to add Medicare payee to Goldwest CU. I made the payment based on what I should actually owe. $344.

We all went to dinner which was very good.

Back at the room I told Dad that I was leaving for Texas and that I would be back in April. Dad said that they needed me there, something he has never said before. I always hate to leave knowing it could potentially be the last time I saw one of them alive.

I left FB around 6 and headed out for Dallas. I stopped at Sam's Club in Moore for gas. I drove to the Travel Center/Rest Stop just barely into Texas. I fed and pottied the dogs and made a cup of mocha to drink while writing this entry in the Jornal.
