Friday 31Jan20 Birdcage Ghost Tour
Day 15
Woke at 7:30 and had the usual breakfast. After washing dishes I walked to McDonald's and had coffee and updated the budget. I noticed that my retirement pay was only 3605.66 and $375 less than what the previous documents stated I would get. I looked through my retirement paperwork and found the appropriate phone number and attempted to call the help desk a couple of times. I got a busy signal both times. I also found the paperwork for my Medicare premium and called that help desk to see what I needed to do to prove I was retired and not making near what I was making in 2018. After 45 minutes I finally was connected to a nice lady who provided me the form I needed to submit to have my premium based on my current earnings. I will fill out the form and take it to a SS office near Midwest City Oklahoma.
I drove to a Walmart that was real close by and bought a battery powered shaver and some food items. I then headed to the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum. As I was pulling into parallel park the bike rack caught the bumper of the vehicle parked behind me. I damaged her bumper surround and fender. We exchanged photos and insurance information.
I still took in the museum. It was very interesting and the hour and a half I had before it closed was just enough time to see it.
As I was about to leave the city limits on Tucson I stopped to top off on fuel.
I drove on to Tombstone arriving just before sunset. I talked to the owner of Tombstone Trading Post (Pete) and he said I could park out back for the night. I offered to pay him $10 but he wouldn't take it.
Pete gave me ideas on a couple of bars and I drove down town to check them out. As I was walking the boardwalk I came to the Bird Cage Saloon just as a ghost tour was about to start. I took the tour for $25. The guide gave some interesting info on the Saloon but overall the tour was not that great. From there I walked back to Big Nose Kate's Saloon and had a burger, fries and a beer. After a while Pete showed up and we talked for a bit. There was a 3 piece live country band that was decent and so I stayed for an hour or so.
After dinner I walked back to the RT and drove back to the Tombstone Trading Post and parked out back where Pete had shown me.
