Prep for Indy

Saturday 25May19 Prep for Indy

Woke at 8. Decided not to go to the Model Aircraft Museum. Drove on to Indianapolis proper. I drove by the Indianapolis motor speedway but the traffic was a nightmare. I needed to pick up my race ticket and campground pass but there was no parking. I got on line to find the nearest Walmart which was about 5 miles away and drove there. Once there I unloaded the bike and road it to Lot 1C where I was to camp tomorrow. The guy there directed me to the Will Call location so I road there. There I picked up the ticket and pass. I also got a $10 ticket to get in today to just look around. They told my there was motorcycle parking at the Indianapolis Speedway Museum so I headed off there. About this time it started raining. I pulled over and put on my rain racket. When I started to move on the bike wouldn't start. I guess the battery is a bit week. Luckily I was able to kick start it.

The museum is in the middle of the track so I had to go through a tunnel. Once through I was directed where to park the bike.

I went in to the gift store and bought a mug. Then I walked around to Gasoline Ally

This is the 2.2 liter Chevy Indy Engine. My understanding is that there are only Chevy and Honda 2.2 Liter engines currently approved for Indy Cars.

I also went to the bleachers by the starting line.

After checking out the track I rode back to the RT. It was a pretty hot day and there was no shade so it was pretty warm inside.

I spent the rest of the day there at the Walmart. Around 10 pm I moved to a parking spot on the side of the store. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich took a shower and went to bed.
