Woke at 7. It was so himid all night last night. I didn't sleep well at all. I don't do humidity well.
I had the usual breakfast and took a shower using the outside shower. I took the blanket the dogs sleep on and draped it over the two open passenger cargo doors. It felt so good to was off all the stickiness.
Most of the campers left after the race yesterday. The ones that stayed overnight were in the process of breaking camp. Most were gone before I left around 9:30.
I drove to a Costco on the North side of town only to discover they were closed for Memorial Day. I got back on the interstate heading to Chicago. I stopped at a Flying J and dumped the black and grey tanks, filled the fresh water tank and bought enough gas to get by until I can get to a Costco tommorow.
I drove another hour or so and stopped at a reststop for lunch. It was packed due to everyone heading home after the holiday weekend.
Around Gary Indiana it got really stormy and I decided to find a Walmart to pull over until the storm passed.
While I was there I bought some supplies and got some photos printed. A tornado warning came over my phone while I was in the store.
I then called and checked on a campsite at Indiana Dunes National Park. Upon being informed they there were plenty of sites available I headed that way arriving just a bit after sunset.
There was a kiosk for payment which is the first I've seen at a National Park.
Using my senior pass that Zack bought me a couple of years ago I paid the $12.50 which is half the general price. Being able to pay at the kiosk with a debt card is a big plus, however I did make a special trip back into the Walmart before I left just to get change anticipating that I would need it to put in the envelope at the campground.
For dinner I had some of the chicken I bought at Walmart.
