First day travel blog
Travel Journal of Symplgy
I retired from my civilian position working for the USAF on April 12th 2019. I had been employed at Hill air Force Base for 39 years.
This is the vacant desk in my office which I had worked for the last ten
Additional I had been in the US army for three years back in the 1970s. All total I had 42 years government service.
On that day I had my supervisor Trapper Hanson sign my final out-processing paperwork. After saying my goodbyes I returned my badge and vindicator card to the appropriate offices. Without having my badge I could not gain access to the base once I drove off. It was a somewhat sad feeling.
I drove from the base to the post office where I mailed my retirement paperwork
I drove home from the post office and finished the last minute packing of my clothes and travel items into my 1994 Roadtrek Popular 190 Class B motorhome.
My two fellow travel companions Sympldog and Symplmut got on board and we were on our way.
We made one stop in Salt Lake City to say our goodbyes to Symplgrl
After our sad good byes we were on our way. Since we didn't get on the road until around 4 in the afternoon we didn't get very far that first night and stopped at a truckstop in Springville Ut.
