15Apr19 Pagosa Springs
15Apr19 This morning I had the usual breakfast and after cleaning up I drove on to Pagosa Springs Colorado.
In past years my family had a couple of family reunions in Pagosa Springs Colorado. The first was in the summer of 1989 about six months after I was married. It was the first of many family reunions. The second reunion in 1993 was also in Pagosa Springs. Both were held at a ranch that was for sale. It was called the Shenandoah Ranch. The place was amazing with a river running through it which we caught several trout from.
There were many horses as well. The ranch house was old and a bit run down but it was huge and had a lot of character.
There was also a reunion in Taos New Mexico in 1999. Since Pagosa was on the way home I drove back to the Shenandoah Ranch and took this photo of my Son Zack.
Zack is the one responsible for developing this website. Thanks Zack!
After walking around the town and reminiscing about the great times we'd had I found a family owned restaurant and had lunch. Then I got back on the road and drove to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. A couple of years ago Zack had bought me a Senior Pass for my birthday, but I had recently miss placed it. Luckily since I arrived late there was no charge to enter. I did have to pay $20 for a campsite which would only have been $10 if I had the pass
